Pedro Campos Ramirez

Pedro Campos Ramirez, known affectionately as Pete, passed away on September 11, 2024, in Portland, Texas at the age of 92. Born on June 29, 1932, in Dripping Springs, Texas, he was a cherished member of his community and a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving from November 14, 1952, to November 16, 1954.

Pete is survived by his loving family, including his sons, Ramon (Jill) Ramirez and Rosendo (Gloria) Ramirez; daughters, Rachel Aleman, Becky (Tony) Flores, and Rita (Jim) Stidham; brothers, Eddie (Elva) Ramirez, Felix (Oralia) Ramirez, and Arturo (Sylvia) Ramirez; and sister, Connie Harlan. His legacy continues through his 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, along with numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and close friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lydia Ramirez; parents, Juanita and Jesus Ramirez; and siblings, Carrie Drysdale, Elisa Rodriguez, Elida Elizondo, Sylvia Ramirez, Ben Ramirez, and Raymond Ramirez.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Rosary at 7:00pm at Winsteads' Funeral Home, 500 Wildcat Drive, Portland, TX 78374, where family and friends will gather to recite the rosary. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at 10:00am with interment to follow at Palms Memorial Gardens.

Pete's life was marked by his dedication to his family, his service to his country, and his deep faith. He will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, and the profound impact he had on those around him.
