Beloved brother, uncle and friend to many, Pete Ray Hernandez of San Antonio Tx, gained his Angel wings unexpectedly on February 6, 2018 at the young age of 39.
Born in Aransas Pass Tx on December 31, 1978 he was placed into the loving and caring arms of his parents Manuela (Mamie) Johnson Hernandez and Pedro Olivarez Hernandez. He was always extremely grateful of his birth mother for placing him with his adopted parents and siblings, whom all loved him unconditionally. Pete Ray was a 1997 graduate of Kennedy High School and earned his Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from ITT Technical Institute in December 2015.
Pete Ray AKA "Pit Bull" to his family and close friends will be remembered for his big smile, sense of humor, and his strong willingness to help anyone who needed it anyway he could, he knew no stranger. He was the trusted neighborhood handyman and believed he could fix almost anything you asked him to, and if not he would work on it till he figured it out. He loved to call himself "The man with the plan."
He loved nothing more than spending time with all his family especially his big brother Joe Lee whom he has idolized since childhood. He also enjoyed giving all his love and attention to his nieces, nephews and his great nieces and great nephews and left them with many good memories to keep him alive in their hearts forever.
Pete Ray is preceded in death by his parents Manuela (Mamie) Johnson Hernandez, Pedro Olivarez Hernandez and his niece Linda Johnson and his nephew Angel C. Galvan.
He is survived by his paternal grandfather Roman Hernandez, two brothers Frank L. Johnson Jr, Joe Lee Johnson, and two sisters Patricia Ann (Angel) Carbajal , Linda (Jesse) Johnson Galvan , his beloved Aunt, Mary Infante (Pedro) and a special sister in law Marilyn Flores, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Limbaugh Funeral Home in Portland TX.
Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM on Monday February 12, 2018 at St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Aransas Pass, TX.
Private burial to take place at a later date.
