Rene Pena

Rene Aaron Pena, age 42, left his earthly life and entered into Eternal Life, Tuesday, July 20,
2021. He was born November 20, 1978 in Gregory, TX to Norma L Pena.  .

Rene graduated from Gregory-Portland High School in 1997. He then earned his Associates degree in
Nursing in 2000 from Del Mar College. Rene married Kristina Pena on January 1, 2011 in Portland,
Texas.

Rene was an active member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church where he was the Praise &
Worship Music Leader,. he was a founding member of Team Gridiron, the music leader for A.C.T.S. and
teen A.C.T.S.  Rene also served as President of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal and led praise and
worship for numerous Catholic Charismatic Renewal Conferences and teen retreats.

Rene is preceded in death by his maternal great-grandmother, Petra M. Solis, paternal great­
grandfather Francisco Pena, maternal grandparents Gonzalo and Maria Pena and Uncle Gonzalo Pena,
Jr.

Rene is survived by his wife of ten years Kristina Pena. 9 children - Gabriel Aaron Pena, Nicholas
Rene Pena, Isabella Grace Pena, Taylor Renee Perez, Cecilia Pauline Pena, Stephen Alexander Pena,
Lily Reann Perez, Kathryn Renae Pena, and Matthew Kristian Pena, Mother, Norma L Pena and
numerous Uncles, Aunts, and cousins.

Rene was an accomplished guitarist and vocalist and used his God-given talent to bring people into
a closer relationship with God.  His heart was full of love for the Lord.

Rene was a great husband, father, son, nephew, cousin and friend.

Visitation is Monday, July 26, 2021 at 5pm with a rosary to be prayed at 7pm.  The funeral is
Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at 10am.  Both services to be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic
Church located at 1008 Austin St,  Portland, TX  78374.  Burial to follow at Gregory cemetery.
