Robert Wayne Arnold

Robert (Bob) Wayne Arnold was born January 4, 1955 in Kenedy, Texas and died after a brief illness on February 14, 2024. He was preceded in death by his mother, Essie Mae Smith, father, J.W. (Sam) Arnold, eldest daughter, Marcie Nicole Merritt and brothers, William (Bill) Copeland and Albert James (Al) Arnold. He grew up in Karnes County, attending elementary school in both Karnes City and Kenedy. The family then moved to Alice, where Bob attended high school. He was a student athlete, participating in football and track. Upon graduation, Bob enlisted in the United States Army. His four year tour was spent in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1977. Bob spent most of his adult life working in the Texas oil patch, inspecting pipes with his brother, Al, and as a hot shot driver. He retired with his wife, Karol, and fulfilled his life long dream as a cattle rancher in Live Oak county. His love and devotion for his family was his greatest joy. Bob is survived by his wife, Karol, brother, Jay W. (Kathy) Arnold, sisters, Peggy (Harry) Ray, and Charlene Rockett. His surviving children are Hollis (Jeremy) Hintz, Zach (Abby) Arnold and grandchildren, Jolie and Jayden Merritt and Marsten and Mykenzi Hintz. Visitation for Mr. Arnold will be at 6:00 pm on Monday, February 19, 2024 at Dobie-Winsteads Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas.
