Rose Mary Kosub Wilder, age 85, passed away peacefully at her home on October 16, 2022. Mary was born September 2, 1937 to parents Helen and George Kosub. Her father, unfortunately passed away early in her life. Mary was raised by her mother, sister/best friend Bunny, brothers Sonny and Edward. Mary attended San Antonio Catholic School.
At age 18 she married John S. Wilder “Scotty” of 66 years. Their special moments together include her first camping and fishing trips, learning to drive and playing Bunko and dominos with friends. Their retirement years were spent at the River enjoying each other and fishing and playing games with the grandkids. They spent a lifetime together loving each other as they raised their three sons, celebrating their four grandchildren. Their last moments together saying goodbye were the hardest of times of their 66 years together. This is not goodbye, it’s “until we meet again, my love.”
Scott, her first son was special to her heart from the start. Catering to his “particulars” was her joy and like a great mom, took pride in knowing he was happy, especially getting the “special meal” on chicken and dumplin’ meal nights. Scott served in the U.S. Army. These last few years were spent at home caring for mom in her sickest hours. Their last special hours together were full of kindness and love for each other.
Steve and Suzie, made Mom a grandmother and fondly named her “Nanny”. Her first grandchildren, Tyler and Dalton were special joys in her life. So many firsts for their Nanny. She was filled with countless precious memories of Sea World trips and river fishing trips. Cheering them on as they made her proud at their basketball and volleyball games. She was filled with joy with shopping with Tyler and fishing with Dalton. All the firsts that grandmas get to recount with love.
Shawn and Kathleen and their children Brooke and Braeden had her attention with countless hours of “outside” time with the cows, in the little red car, and in the park with the infamous pink jeep. We will never have enough pictures to capture those memories of her cheers at beauty pageants, golf tournaments, baseball and football games. Our hearts are filled with knowing she loved watching the smiles and happiness we felt with each of our experiences.
Each of us have our special cherished tender moments with you. Giving to each of us made you happy and we hope you know our hearts and how we feel about you. Your kind soul and generosity truly made each of us better people.
