Rosendo H. Gonzalez

Rosendo H. Gonzalez, age 80, passed away June 11, 2018. He was born March 1, 1938 in Argenta, Texas to Eliseo and Trinidad Gonzalez. Rosendo was an Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam era. He was a member of the VFW and parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was also an avid hunter and local businessman and entrepreneur. He was also retired from the Civil Service.He was preceded in death by his wife Aurora "Josie" Gonzalez, parents and sister Cruzita Gonzalez.He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Delia Medrano- Gonzalez, two daughters Rose Gonzalez Perez of San Antonio, Araceli Elena Medrano of Mathis, one son Robert Lee (Maria) Gonzalez of Mathis, seven sisters Elisa Mercado Perez, Petra Herrera, Tomasa Bott, Janie Rodgers, Minnie Garibay, Beatrice Dracoulis and Toni Vanhanen; three brothers: Vicente Gonzalez, Luciano Gonzalez and Santos Gonzalez.  5 grandchildren, Amanda Lee Gonzalez, Aaron Mario Perez, Brianna Jules Saldivar, Marcos Antonio Perez, Carlee Rae Gonzalez.Visitation will be on Thursday June 14 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Dobie Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation at Sacred Heart Church at 118 S. Aransas St. from 6-9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. Thursday. Funeral mass will be Friday June 15 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment with Military Honors will be in the Cenizo Hill Cemetery in Mathis.
