Steven Cory Swaffer

Cory was a loving son, brother, uncle and nephew. He loved spending time with his dog Jody and they were inseparable. Cory was a graduate from Delmar College Truck Driving School and was very proud of being a professional truck driver. One of his dreams was to drive cross country with his dog Jody, riding shot gun by his side. Cory will always be remembered for his independence, his devotion to his family and friends and his loving, quiet nature.

Cory is survived by his parents Donna and Mike Whitehurst; four brothers Jesse Whitehurst, Ben Whitehurst, Zachry Whitehurst, and Matthew Whitehurst; sister Alise Walker, all of Portland, Texas; maternal grandparents Sue Swaffer of Memphis, Tennessee, and Ron (Bobbie) Swaffer of Savannah, Tennessee; paternal grandparents Jean and Bob Harrington of Portland, Texas; aunt LeAnn Holmes; and uncle Doug Swaffer.
