After a hard fought battle with cancer, Vikki Jo Adams (Anderson, Dougherty, Kuehner) passed away on Monday, September 21, 2020, in Corpus Christi, Texas in the care of her cousin’s family.
Vikki was born in Corpus Christi on January 3, 1958, to Garland and Jacqueline (Joyce) Ashcraft Adams. After graduating from Ray High School and Del Mar College, Vikki earned her Dental Hygienist License in 1979. She worked as a hygienist for the next forty years in Dallas and Houston. Vikki finished her career at Sterling Ridge Dental where she was consistently the top producing hygienist.
Vikki loved her family and was generous and devoted to everyone she knew. Although she was known for being a dedicated, hardworking employee, Vikki also enjoyed life and loved pursuing new hobbies and adventures. She loved to paint, crochet, cook and dine on oysters, sushi and crawfish. She enjoyed participating in trail rides and attending renaissance festivals. Vikki was also a certified scuba diver and took numerous trips to Hawaii and the Caribbean to pursue that hobby. Vikki’s latest trip to Italy for a wedding was one of her favorite adventures.
Vikki is survived by her husband, Brian Hutchins, of Conroe; her brother, Kenneth (Gretchen) Bassett, of Illinois; her sisters Bobbi Nava, Scottie (Jack) Akin, and her sister/niece Ashley Tamburine (Sean) Massie; cousins Lorri, Allen, and Keith Doubrava; daughter Jordan (Theodore) Valez; grandchildren Theodore and Valetta Valez; and many friends who she considered family. Vikki was preceded in death by her parents Garland and Bette Adams and Jacqueline Joyce Bocook.
The family would like to thank Roxanne, Tammy, Erlinda, and Melissa of New Century Hospice for the loving care they lavished on Vikki during her last few months.
A funeral service celebrating Vikki’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at the Arlington Heights Church of Christ in Corpus Christi, Texas (2722 Rand Morgan Rd). Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. in Sandia, Texas.
Flowers may be sent to the Dobie Funeral Home in Mathis, Texas, or in lieu of flowers donations may be made to cancer research.
