Wendell Reid Henry (age 85), beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2011. Wendell was born on July 25, 1926 in Pernell, Oklahoma. Wendell proudly served in the Navy during World War II after which he spent most of his professional career in the field of education helping young people reach their full potential.
Wendell is remembered for his love of laughter, devotion to church and family, and passion for helping others. He liked to spend time fishing, golfing, playing baseball and searching for arrowheads near his dearly loved home of Alamogordo, New Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his wife Peggy, his son Royce John, and his two brothers Jimmy and Royce Henry. Continuing to celebrate his life are his daughter Debra; his son-in-law Terry Roubidoux; his brother Forest Henry; his grandchildren Tahnee (Anthony) Coulston, Douglas (Susie) Roubidoux, and Renee' Henry; and his great-grandchildren Kayla, Harry, Reid and Charles.

Visitation with the family will be held Saturday, September 24, 2011 at the First Presbyterian Church in Corpus Christi, 430 S. Carancahua, at 9:00 A.M. with a funeral service to begin at 10:00 A.M.
